Sunday Morning Sermon Series: “Authentic or Counterfeit Gospel?”
The War
The Ideals
The Costs
There is a spiritual epidemic today. It is a deficiency of the employment of discernment in the Church. To be fair, some in the visible church are not using discernment because they don’t truly know the Word (Mat. 7:21-23). And those who do know Him have let the world hijack their values, motives, attitudes, and priorities. Unfortunately, the spiritual war includes battles within; and the true Body of Christ cannot compromise her virtues to please or to fit comfortably in society (1 Jn. 2:15-17). In His Body, Jesus calls for unity – not uniformity! Conversely, the social gospel has re-emerged with the momentum of an ill-informed, emotionally driven people with a herd mentality who virtue signals, shames, censors, or vilifies anyone who doesn’t toe their line. Since contrast is the mother of clarity, I present a message which contrasts the mission, strategy, tactics, values, motives, attitudes, priorities, and kingdoms of the authentic and counterfeit gospels.
